Calligraphy

Handwritten Styles by Amy Elizabeth

Classic calligraphy calls for using the traditional pen and nib dipped in ink. This writing tool creates so much beauty in each letter that is handwritten with hairlines to thick shades in the letter stems. Take a look at my three styles that I use for my calligraphy services.

English Roundhand (Copperplate) Style

For artistically elegant formal etiquette envelopes addressing invitations for weddings and events, this style is for you. Historically, this is one of the first scripts for wedding and formal events that dates back onto the 1800’s.

Modern French Style

Hand-lettering is an artform, so each letter is unique and wonderful from the hand it is produced by. This style is my take on historic French scripts and handwriting I have studied over my lettering career. My Modern French script has been used for birthdays, holiday events and baby shower invites.

Fancy Print Style

My Fancy Print style is my idea of an artistic creative cursive print. After studying various typeface fonts, I love to merge print with swashes of cursive curls. Clients use it for party and holiday envelope addressing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some popular questions below.
If you can’t find your question below, feel free to contact me, and I’ll be happy to help.

How long does a calligraphy service take?

Usually about 2-3 weeks; this includes drop off/shipping until the time they are completed. Depending on my calendar, I take 1-2 orders per week.

Can you match my ink to my invitation colors?

Yes, I can mix colors to meet your specification. I always do a visual color ink test to get approval before I begin.

To save on time, can I ship my envelopes and place cards to you from my stationary/printing store?

Yes, you may use my address for shipping details. I will send a product photo and description before I begin. Please triple check that you have your order correct with your stationary store.

Can you write like my typeface/fonts that my invitation has?

Yes, I have handwritten to mimic computer based type/fonts. I do have to practice, so there will be an additional fee. I always like learning and a good challenge! Please be aware, this serive would add some time to the 2-3 week timeframe.

Can you write on dark colored envelopes/place cards too?

Yes, I have handwritten on hundreds (if not thousands) of non-white colored envelopes and place cards. Lastly, at this time I do not charge extra for this service.
